In and out of the classroom, CVTC offers activities and services to promote students' growth. A rich extracurricular life is crucial to a positive experience as a student, and CVTC offers several events and student groups. Learn more about the opportunities to get involved below.
There are a variety of student services available to assist you in adjusting to and thriving at CVTC. Employment, advising, disability services, student support - whatever your area of interest or need, we're here to help.
CVTC offers academic advising for every student. Your academic advisor will help you with career and academic decisions, learn about the registration process, select courses, and transition to CVTC. We encourage you to seek out your academic advisor when you become a CVTC student.

The Academic Support team provides academic instruction, course preparation, and learning support. Learning materials and one-on-one instruction are provided by qualified faculty. No appointments necessary! Services offered include: homework help, study skills & test preparation, college success seminars, and technology support. College Success Seminars are free and designed to help you brush up on basic skills you’ll need to be successful at CVTC.

An online career assessment is another resource that is available to anyone. The career assessment will ask a series of questions and then match you to occupations, allow you to explore careers, and give you a list of CVTC programs that are a good fit for your interests.
Our Career Services department offers assistance to students and graduates that need help looking for a job, writing a cover letter, building a resume, and interviewing. Several career fairs are hosted each year to help students meet and network with local employers.
Services are free and available to all current students. Your Student Success Specialist will assist you in overcoming barriers that many students encounter during their academic career. If we determine that students need more resources we will provide them with a referral to appropriate community resource(s), including mental health counseling. We are here to help with:
CVTC receives federal grant support for Non-traditional Occupation (NTO) students through the federal Carl D. Perkins Career & Education Act. Non-traditional occupations (NTO) designated programs represent careers in which less than 25% of the workforce is made up of one gender. Today, many women and men are breaking down barriers to pursue successful careers in NTO fields.
Diversity Resources staff can offer support, advocacy, and resources while you are exploring a non-traditional program at CVTC.
The Student Support Services program is part of the TRIO family of programs and helps low-income, first-generation, and students with disabilities achieve their dreams of higher education. TRIO/Student Support Services is federally funded by the U.S. Department of Education.

CVTC has entered into agreements with the Prevea Health Eau Claire Family Medicine and the River Falls Medical Clinic to provide basic health care services for our students.
Students taking classes in Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, and River Falls are automatically enrolled in their respective student health services.
Students taking classes in Menomonie may enroll in either the Prevea Health Eau Claire Family Medicine or River Falls Medical Clinic health services if interested. Please contact the Menomonie Campus Office to enroll.
