Visit Us at the Fire Safety Center
CVTC’s L.E. Phillips Fire Safety Center serves as a training site for emergency services program and as a facility for businesses to conduct research and development for fire safety products. The heart of the building is a 50’ x 50’ burn room with thick, high walls lined with fireproof material and a ventilation system that can control the amount of air fueling a fire.
You can observe activities in the burn room from an adjacent observation room/classroom, where you can see a demonstration on how to properly approach an intense chemical fire, or check out how your company’s products are measuring up. The L.E. Phillips Fire Safety Center also features an equipment storage bay and an exercise room for emergency services program students.

Fire Safety Testing
CVTC's Fire Safety Center is a modern facility ideal for fire research, especially for businesses that are developing products that need to undergo fire testing. The Fire Safety Center is equipped to perform UL 711 Testing, but the facility can be easily adapted to perform other tests, such as fire ratings on doors, windows, and glass. We provide a safe and secure environment for performing tests in an extremely private setting. The Fire Safety Center includes a test room, a preparation room, an observation room, and a storage area. The test room is 50' by 50' feet with a 30' ceiling and has been specially designed to remove factors that make testing difficult. The ventilation system is computer-controlled and can be adjusted for specific tests. The observation room features a large three-panel viewing window, where observers can watch tests and the performance of their equipment in the test room. With our facility, you can concentrate on the fire and not worry about the testing environment.
