Admission Requirements
Sterile Processing Technician
Technical Diploma | 30-534-2
www.cvtc.edu | 1-800-547-2882
The primary objective of the program is to promote the education of healthcare sterile processing and distribution personnel through certification to ensure safe and effective levels of practice to protect the public. Completion of the Sterile Processing Technician program will benefit individuals to sit for the International Certification exam much sooner than if they trained on the job. Upon completion of clinical hour requirements, students completing this technical diploma may take the International Association for Healthcare Materials Management's "Sterile Processing Technician" certification exam.
To get started, applicants must first complete the College Admission Requirements. Once completed, applicants are officially accepted to CVTC and placed on the program waiting list, if applicable. An applicant’s program eligibility date is the date their completed application is received. If necessary, the application time will also be used to determine placement priority.
Before beginning core program classes, all Academic Preparedness Requirements must also be completed as outlined below. When all Academic Preparedness Requirements are met and space is available in the core program, applicants are eligible to register for core Sterile Processing Technician (534-level) courses.
