Electrical Maintenance - CVTC Menomonie Campus

CVTC and local high schools have partnered to offer students entering grades 10 - 12 an opportunity to explore a variety of ways electricity is used across the Chippewa Valley to move products we buy on Amazon and locally that depend on industrial electricity. Students will engage in hands - on, interactive labs on equipment used by local employers such as Nestle, Walmart, Menards Distribution Center, Midwest Manufacturing, JD Manufacturing, Ashley Furniture, Gold N' Plump, and Bush Brothers. Faculty can connect students with local employers looking to hire skilled workers. Students will be introduced to industrial electricity utilizing both classroom and lab experiences, including electrical systems and controls. Students will also learn concepts of component selection, power transmission application, failure analysis, and predictive maintenance techniques in a hands - on lab experience.

Students earn industry credentials and learn hands - on about opportunities in automation. Students will have the ability to work with local employers and participate in youth apprenticeship programs at their high school.
