College Transfer - CVTC Chippewa Falls Campus (Spring Only)

CVTC, along with your school district, has partnered to offer juniors and seniors planning to attend a two - or four - year college the opportunity to earn one semester of college credits. This academy is being offered face - to - face at the CVTC Chippewa Falls Campus. Students must be highly motivated and committed to all nine courses throughout the school year.

When: January 25 - May 21, 2027

Location: CVTC Chippewa Falls & Eau Claire Campus 

Credential Earned: Simultaneously earn a high school diploma and 10 credits of college general education credits. Classes in this academy will allow students to earn credits towards the CVTC Liberal Arts AA Degree or Liberal Arts AS Degree. General education credits earned through this academy are guaranteed to transfer under the Universal Credit Transfer Agreement (UCTA) | Transfer Wisconsin  to any University of Wisconsin college.

Students taking the College Transfer Academy who want to earn additional credits towards the Liberal Arts AA or AS Associates Degree can look at taking classes in the summer through the General Studies Academy.

Course Descriptions

806 - 201 Principles of Biology (4 credits)

The Principle of Biology Class explores fundamental principles of biochemistry, cells, ecology, genetics, evolution, and biodiversity. This is a lab - based course where students can applying basic laboratory procedures. The course is designed for both majors and non - majors in biological or medical sciences.

809 - 198 Introduction to Psychology (3 credits)

This introductory course in psychology is a survey of the multiple aspects of human behavior. It involves a survey of the theoretical foundations of human functioning in such areas as learning, motivation, emotions, personality, deviance and pathology, physiological factors, and social influences. Additional topics include research methods, biological and environmental impacts, development, sensation and perception, consciousness, intelligence and stress. This course directs the student to an insightful understanding of the complexities of human relationships in personal, social, and vocational settings.

801 - 198 Speech (3 credits)

Explores the fundamentals of effective oral presentation to small and large groups. Topic selection, audience analysis, methods of organization, research, structuring evidence and support, delivery techniques, and other essential elements of speaking successfully, including the listening process, form the basis of the course.
