What is Bridge Builders and What Does it Mean to CVTC?
Bridge Builders recognizes a group of individuals who have made the choice to leave a lasting charitable legacy to CVTC through a planned gift. Planned gifts provide resources that help bridge the gap to education and preserve high quality opportunities for CVTC students. Some individuals choose to make a gift to a specific purpose, such as a particular academic program, scholarship fund, or student resource. Alternatively, you may wish to leave an unrestricted gift to be utilized at the Board of Directors discretion. Legacies for general purposes enable the College to respond quickly and effectively to new or unexpected needs.

After lifetimes in higher education, we strongly support students attending Chippewa Valley Technical College. Nancy taught for many years at CVTC’s Menomonie Campus, in creating innovative ways to bring success to her students. Her work was recognized, throughout the state for excellence! Jim was the Dean of Industry & Technology at UW-Stout, prior to serving as President of Dunwoody College of Technology & Bemidji State University. He worked throughout the world in leading entrepreneurial learning of technology! We found establishing an endowed DVTC scholarship was leaving a lifetime commitment to tomorrow’s excellence!

Ways to Invest
You might be surprised to learn that there are ways to support CVTC that don’t affect your current lifestyle or your family’s security. By making a planned gift, you can make a significant impact in the lives of CVTC students- and gain financial and tax benefits for you and your family. Many planned giving options create a reduced tax burden currently, or in the future and may also reduce estate taxes for your heirs.
Bequests
The easiest way to make a legacy gift is to create a bequest in your will or living trust with either a specific gift amount, or a percentage of your estate. This takes a simple designation in your will or trust and is not payable until death. This costs nothing during your lifetime and provides the peace of mind that your gift can be modified should your circumstances change.
Retirement Assets
A gift of your retirement assets would convey all or some of the capital remaining in your retirement account (such as a 401(k) or IRA) to the CVTC. This may also reduce the size of your estate and subsequent tax liability for heirs. Simply designate the CVTC Foundation as a fractional or total beneficiary in your retirement
Life Insurance
You can name the CVTC Foundation as the owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy. This provides an income tax deduction based on the value of the paid premiums. Like a gift of retirement assets, this is a simple designation of CVTC Foundation as the beneficiary of the identified life insurance policy.

Let your estate planner or financial advisor know you are considering a gift to the CVTC Foundation. They can assist you in determining what type of gift best suits your circumstances.

Contact CVTC Foundation, we will answer your questions and help you establish the gift purpose and criteria to ensure your wishes are met. We also request you complete a Declaration of Intent.
