Education & Support for Triaging & Accelerating Training in Rural Healthcare
This grant’s award period is March 1, 2023 - February 28, 2027, in the amount of $4,994,775. CVTC is the lead of this grant in partnership with consortium partners Mid-State Tech, Northwood Tech, and Western Tech.
Grant Project Goals
Award: Award 700+ participants with industry-recognized healthcare credentials.
Refer: Refer 160+ individuals into health career pathways.
Provide: Provide 400+ participants living in rural areas access to grant-funded learning content.
Increase: Increase the graduation rate of students in identified healthcare programs by 5%.
Implement: Implement OER in 150+ Medical Terminology course sections.

Rural Healthcare Learning Community
The Rural Healthcare Learning Community consists of stakeholders from our 11-county district consisting of K12 administration and teachers, healthcare employers and nursing leadership, CVTC representatives, and workforce partners. The community meets virtually in the spring and fall with the goal of evaluating and addressing:
- Student barriers in higher education
- Rural student engagement in healthcare careers
- Rural healthcare hiring challenges
- Workforce preparedness
- Evolving landscape of healthcare within our communities
