CVTC board approves proposed 25-26 budget
Expenditures down nearly 5.3 percent

The Chippewa Valley Technical College District Board approved the proposed 2025-26 budget during its meeting on Monday, May 19.
The budget calls for total expenditures of $109,773,451, a reduction of 5.27 percent from the 2024-25 revised budget due mainly to fewer planned capital project expenses. General fund revenues are projected to be $67,614,298, down 0.38 percent from 2024-25.
Caleb Cornelius, CVTC vice president of administration and chief strategy officer, said the approved budget works to sustain momentum by “stewarding resources to strengthen our future.”
Cornelius mentioned the College’s continued implementation of strategic plan actions and investing in work that achieves the desired outcomes. That includes looking forward to a new Safety Training Center space in Eau Claire and updates to the Menomonie and Chippewa Falls campuses.
In addition to a decrease in expenditures, an estimated five percent increase in property values will decrease the mill rate by 1.86 percent from $66.28 per $100,000 of property value to $65.05. While the mill rate is decreasing, the overall amount estimated to be collected throughout the district via the tax levy is $28,766,602, up 3.05 percent from the previous year, though the tax levy will not be set until the October 2025 meeting.
