CVTC colleagues recognized for excellence

Chippewa Valley Technical College recognized 10 colleagues on Wednesday for excellence and dedication to students in their roles throughout the College. 

Kyle Downing, Fire Service Technician Instructor, received the Paul & Karen Kohler Adjunct Instructor Excellence Award. The award is meant to enhance education by recognizing the contributions of adjunct instructors to student learning and improve the status and respect for the teaching profession.  

Tami Davis, Nursing Instructor, received the John Frank Outstanding Educator Award. The award’s mission is to recognize outstanding role models and to elevate the value that society places on education. The award recipient must demonstrate professionalism, excellence in teaching and learning, and foster positive student-teacher relationships.

Missy Vircks, Manufacturing Engineering Technologist Instructor, received the Domer New Faculty Teaching Award. This award recognizes new faculty members who show exceptional skill in promoting student learning and providing quality education to CVTC learners. 

Dawn Barone, Nursing Instructor; Jerry Moldenhauer, Student Success Specialist, ret.; Mike Nickels, Developmental Math Instructor; and Leah Velasquez, Instructional Designer, received the Student Success Advocate Award.

The award recognized colleagues who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to helping students thrive at CVTC, contributing to improved student outcomes through their relationship-building, teaching or service strategies, and process improvement efforts. 

Kati Morley, Director of Library Services, received the Hannah & Ryan Connor Emerging Leader Award. The purpose of this award is to recognize and celebrate emerging leaders at Chippewa Valley Technical College. By honoring these recipients, we aim to inspire a culture of continuous development in the pursuit of excellence. 

Kurtis Burton, Student Involvement Lead, and John Cook, Educational Technology Specialist, received the Culture of Excellence Award. First awarded in 2007, this award recognizes innovative work that contributes to a culture of excellence at CVTC. It was established through the generosity of many and a matching gift from the Casper Foundation.

All award winners receive a cash token of appreciation and a plaque.
