This workshop will help employees and supervisors explore what 'inclusion' is and how it increases staff productivity and performance. It will provide tools everyone can use to make their own company more inclusive and representative in a global world. In a collaborative, applied setting, attendees will work on building "diversity" into their workplace.

Stereotypes and Verbal Slights
Microaggressions and stereotype threat can create hostile and underperforming workplaces. This workshop helps participants understand what types of aggression and threats can be present in the workplace and the difference between macroaggressions, microaggressions and stereotype threat. They will learn how these negatively impact workplace performance and ways to identify, address and reduce aggressions and stereotype threat.

Bias and Diversity Blindness
This workshop explores what is implicit bias, status blindness and code switch, how they operate, and the costs to the workplace. Participants explore the types of bias, how to identify them and methods to reduce the negative impacts of bias. The workshop also addresses the major types of ‘blindness’ including color/race, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion and class. Participants will learn ways to code switch, address and overcome status blindness in the workplace.
