UWEC Residence Living

Go Here! Live Here!

Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) is happy to partner with UW-Eau Claire (UWEC) to offer a convenient, secure residence hall housing option for CVTC students at UWEC. CVTC students will live alongside other CVTC and UW-Eau Claire students while enjoying the benefits of a vibrant campus community and programs designed for college students.

Why should you live in the UWEC residence halls?

CONVENIENCE: Murray Hall, on UWEC's upper campus, is located near CVTC's Eau Claire campuses.

SUPPORT: Students who live on campus often experience greater academic success and benefit from a built-in support network and community.

CONNECTIONS: Residence hall living makes it easy to meet new people, find study partners, and build lasting friendships.

LEADERSHIP: Get involved in campus activities, develop leadership skills, and strengthen your resume while building a stronger connection to your college experience.

Things to keep in mind:
  • You must commit to living in the residence halls for two semesters (August - May).
  • You need to remain in good academic standing and be enrolled in at least twelve credits.
  • A meal plan is not required but strongly encouraged.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the housing located?

Students will live in Murray Hall on UWEC upper campus. This is walking distance from Clairemont Campus (BEC/HEC) and 4 miles from the West Campus (EEC/ESEC/TEC) and Manufacturing & Engineering Campus.

How much will it cost?

The 2026-2027 rate is $2,702.50 per semester. 2027-2028 rates are determined by the Universities of Wisconsin Board of Regents and are not yet available. CVTC recommends you estimate a cost increase of approximately five percent. Meal plan costs are not included.

Students receiving financial aid may use those funds to help pay for housing. Financial aid is disbursed to students and not paid directly to UW-Eau Claire Housing. Housing charges must be paid each semester through UWEC's "Workday" payment system. Make payments using a credit card, an e-check, or in person at Blugold Central.

For Fall 2026, the housing payment is due Friday, September 25. UWEC determines the Spring 2027 housing payment date.

What is the application process?
  1. Read the Terms and Conditions on the UWEC Housing website.
  2. Submit the UWEC Housing Application + Contract.
