Voices of the Valley: Meet Savina

Voices of the Valley: Meet Savina

Portrait of Savina

From Laos

A mysterious thing happened to me 25 years ago when I worked in Woodville, Wisconsin. One early morning, I drove in the rain from Menomonie to Woodville around 4:00 a.m. because I had to start working at 5:00 a.m. I passed a short bridge. At that moment, no one drove after me or in front of me, and the road was wet, shiny, and dark. I saw someone bending over to pick things up by the side of the road. I thought, "How come people come so early to clean up the side of the road? I should slow down; maybe more than one person is cleaning out there." At the same time, I looked ahead at the right edge of the road. Suddenly, a young lady wearing an olive raincoat with a safety hat and boots stood there. I slowed down to look closer, and then she started to cross the road in front of my car about 20 feet away. I stopped and let her cross. When she got close to my car, her raincoat started to change into a red cape with a hood and long train, and she slowly moved close to the middle of the road. I almost had a heart attack because my heart was beating hard, and I was extremely scared. The farther she went, the longer her red train became. I told myself, "I must look at her carefully when she gets to the other side of the road. What is she doing out here?" However, when she almost got there it was raining a little more. I couldn't see through the windshield well. Then I blinked and used the windshield wiper. The red ghost had disappeared completely. Right away, I was super scared. My heart was beating boom, boom, boom and wouldn't stop. After that, I stepped hard on the gas and drove ahead fast to the company to park my car. I hurried to get out of the car; however, as I was walking down the stairs to my department, I felt weakened and shaky. My body was different. Everything I saw in the morning down the road caused me to be very tired all day long. The image was recorded in my head and played back and forth for several days until I asked my pastor and other members of my church to pray for me. Then the recorded image could be stopped. I believe that the image I saw of the lady in the olive jacket was someone who just had a car accident and passed away in the area. But the early morning was dark with a rain shower, and the road was wet and quiet. It was also a good time for the ghost spirit to wake up.
