Welding Overview

Our Welding program allows you to solve problems and work with your hands. It combines theory, demonstrations, and hands-on experiences to prepare you to take a welding project from welding prints through final inspection. The Welding program offers training in basic welding techniques you'll rely on in your career.

Areas you’ll explore include:

  • Oxyacetylene welding
  • Oxyacetylene cutting
  • Shielded metal arc welding
  • Gas metal arc welding
  • Flux-cored arc welding
  • Gas tungsten arc welding
  • Robotic welding
  • CNC plasma cutting

If you decide to continue your education, you will have completed the first year of the two-year program, and may be able to enroll in the second year Welding Fabrication program.

Welding Print Reading
In this course you’ll learn drawing fundamentals, freehand sketching, and the basics of weld symbols and how to apply them.

Basic Arc Welding
In this hands-on course you'll learn the basics of welding and how to design and select the correct welding process.

Robotic Welding
In this hands-on course you’ll learn welding safety and how to operate a welding robot.
