  • Employee Relations
    Learn customer service techniques, professional etiquette, confidentiality requirements, working with different cultures and generational attitudes, and career paths in the human resource field.
  • Human Resource Law
    Topics include legalities in hiring practices, discrimination and harassment issues, wage and hour matters, family and medical leave, employment-at-will and wrongful discharge, privacy rights, and a basic introduction to state employment laws.
  • Recruitment & Selection
    Learn about recruitment, selection, career development, legal issues associated with selecting employees, and roles in the selection process.

Career Outlook

The Human Resources classes include plenty of hands-on experience as well as an internship to prepare you for the workforce. Human resource professionals enjoy variety, working as part of a team, and helping others improve.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and Bureau of Workforce Information, a 1% growth is projected in human resources positions in CVTC’s 11-county area by 2016.
