Program Courses

These are a few of the courses you can take in the Entrepreneurship program.

Entrepreneurial Ideas
In this course, students take their business ideas and complete surveys and focus groups to determine if their business ideas are valid and will be successful. Students apply primary and secondary data collection techniques and interpretation to arrive at results to be included in the competitive analysis and research portion of their business plans. Students attend a Business Tour with local business professionals to see entrepreneurial ideas in action.

Entrepreneurial Marketing
A comprehensive look at marketing as a whole, branding the business, storytelling the brand, logo development, brand management, and promotional communications basics. Completion of these items make up the marketing section of each students’ business plan. At the conclusion of the course, entrepreneurs work with students in the Digital Marketing program to create a logo, business card, letterhead, envelope, and brochure for students as their final project.

Entrepreneurial Capstone
In this course, students partner with local entrepreneurs and the SBDC in a mentorship relationship to hone their individual business plans. Students also partner with Digital Audio and Video students for a collaboration project of creating a 3-minute video for their product/service/business. Not only will students have a business plan, branding, and networking opportunities, but they formally present their entrepreneurial venture at the Pitch Competition and One Million Cups.
