Digital Marketing Strategy
This course looks at the most popular and powerful social media platforms available to complement and enhance traditional marketing. Students learn about platforms and their purposes, how to reach audiences, what/when/how to post, responding to crises, and maintenance techniques for the platforms. The final project is creating a digital marketing plan for a fake business based on each students’ own hobbies and interests.
Advertising
Advertising consists of communication activities that inform potential consumers about goods, services, images or ideas to achieve the desired outcome. Elements of the Promotional Mix: advertising, personal selling, publicity, direct marketing, and sales promotion are covered in detail. The course includes an introduction of creative elements in advertising.
Marketing Research
In this course, students learn about primary and secondary research, quantitative and qualitative data, industry data and outlook, market size, market growth, and competitive analysis using a variety of sources. Students conduct surveys and focus groups to practice skills. The final project is a research project for a local business that is presented to the business by students.
