Meet Amy

Amy knew a large university wasn't for her and wanted a fresh start.

The teachers and other students were for me!

When she was in high school Amy wanted to become a teacher because her parents were both teachers.

She followed her older sister to a large four-year school, but knew in the first semester she needed to make a change. Coming from a small town and high school it was very overwhelming and she wanted a fresh start.

She saw that CVTC had an Early Childhood Education program and after she had taken a tour and met the teachers, she knew it was the right fit. Amy enjoyed her experience at CVTC and says that her instructors were like second moms to her. The class sizes were small, and the students in the program formed a close knit community.

By her second semester she knew she wanted to start her own childcare facility in her hometown. She knew how much the community needed it and wanted to find a way to give back.

2015 was a whirlwind year for her, she graduated, got married, and completely renovated her home to add an addition for the daycare. Her care center, Country Cuties, is the only licensed childcare provider in her county. Without CVTC she says she would not have the confidence to be the businesswoman, the entrepreneur, or the provider she is today.
